The Supermarine Spitfire is arguably one of the most important military airplanes ever manufactured. Without its heavy armament and incredible mobility, the Germans might have won the Battle of Britain, and the destruction of the UK during WW2 would have been imminent. After Britain fell, there wouldn't be much the Americans could do to break the German stranglehold over Europe, and the world would be a very different place today. Fortunately for all of us, the Spitfire turned out to be the jewel of the skies, and the Germans, with their all incredibly advanced technology, were actually jealous.

This model has been around for a couple years, mostly confined to the top of my dresser. It made a brief appearance at the beginning of JLug, but then quickly went underground. I've made a couple changes every month or so since then, and I finally got a version I really liked. So I figured it was time to release it to the wild. The model is Lego only, and is built damn close to 1:16 scale. I used a plastic model kit (at 1:32) as a guide.
