Welcome to the entry portal (homepage) of my latest MOC, the RSV Davy Jones! I guess the best place to start talking about it is with the name. Well, in the not terribly distant future, there are 3 types of vehicles: Military (M), Registered (R), and Public (P). Registered, which is what the Davy Jones is, means owned by private enterprise. In this case, the vehicle is registered to Marquette Ocean Engineering, based in Houston. For brevity's sake, I won't tell you what the other 14 subclassifications of vehicles are - all you really need to know is SV, which is a submarine vehicle. Ergo, what we have here is some sort of ocean-going submersible. Used for oceanic engineering, presumably, but you never know.

For any non-native English speakers out there, 'Davy Jones' is some quasi-historical character, whose name is a common epithet for the sea. For any non-native English speakers out there, feel free to take a moment and go look up the definitions of 'epithet' and 'quasi-'. 'Davy Jones Locker' is another epithet, and this one refers specifically to the bottom of the sea. You hear about this all the time in pirate and Navy (difference?) movies. And for some reason, there are a couple references to Davy Jones Locker in one of the tracks off the Beastie Boys debut album “Licensed to Ill”. Anyway, by now you should have figured out that this is a pretty unserious and fantastical MOC. So keep your tongue in cheek while browsing.

Since the Davy Jones is composed of sections, the sections are split over multiple pages. Use the navigation line near the top of each page as a guide. Be advised that not all sections will be available at first - if a link takes you nowhere, then there isn't anything there yet. Announcements will be made via the appropriate channels when a section has been updated.

Thanks to Bricklink for parts, and my employer for basically transferring my entire salary to Bricklink. Shout-outs to cjdoyle, samarth, felix, janey, tim(s), buggy, captain underpants, and everyone else at JLug. This is like the 10th MOC in the past couple months, and the 11th out of the last 10 years. Point - you guys inspire me. Not always in a good way, but hey, that's what JLug's all about, right?
